Neighbors of Bristol Park,

This past spring, the Bristol Park HOA Board made the decision to hire a management company to take over the majority of our day-to-day functions. Since we are a very large neighborhood, the responsibilities and time commitment required of each board member had become overwhelming.

After careful research, the board chose CAM to be our management company. We had hoped that this would allow us to be more “forward thinking” as a board, rather than spend time issuing pool passes.

When we contracted with CAM, we made sure to protect the interests of the neighborhood by requiring an “out” if we found that their services did not meet our expectations. Since the transition began last March, CAM had not met the expectations of our contract, although we repeatedly gave CAM many opportunities to address our concerns. As of July, these concerns were still not being addressed and the board exercised our right to terminate the contract.

What does this mean to you? Well, it means that for the time being, and possibly for the foreseeable future, the day-to-day responsibilities will return to board members. After things settle, it may be that the board will look again at other management companies, as our neighborhood will not get smaller. The board will keep you posted regarding that process.

We know that you have questions. We have been working hard this summer to address concerns, misconceptions, and such so that all of our residents are on the same page so to speak. That is a daunting task in itself.

The board appreciates your patience in advance as we work on this transition, as well as other items that have been hovering on our to-do list for some time. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me, or any board member. We are all listed on the neighborhood website, and I believe my phone number, email, and address has been available for years.

We are proud of Bristol Park and hope to make improvements in the coming years. Volunteers are welcome and we value your opinions and concerns.

Thanks all,

Brian Thackrah – Bristol Park Homes Association President
